My name is Linda. I grew up kinda all over. As a kid, my parents moved a lot, so I have lived in many cities across the US. I now reside in Rochester, MN. I have a very loving and supportive husband, Al. We have three beautiful children together- Ethan, Lucy and Luke. I love where I live. It’s got the amenities of a large city, but not the traffic!
My journey to living a better life really started about 4 year ago, after I had given birth to my daughter, Lucy. While I was pregnant, my body started manifesting some weird things. I had CRPS (from before the pregnancy)- Complex Regional Pain Syndrome- in my foot. I couldn’t stand for more than 5-10 minutes without my foot turning purple or black. Then, I developed a burning in my neck and shoulder that was constant. My goal in PT and OT were a simple as washing dishes and putting them away. Needless to say I was depressed. Here I had two children to look after, and my big goal was to be able to just do the dishes. I felt like a failure. When my body started shutting down, it was the first time in my life I wasn’t able to just will myself better.
I learned a lot during that time. I learned about better nutrition, perseverance, empathy, communication, and who I really was. All of these things were necessary for me to go through so I could become the person God wanted me to become.
Over the last four years, I have been seeking for solutions to my circumstance. I am lucky enough to have access to one of the world’s greatest hospitals, Mayo Clinic. I saw every specialist that they had to figure out what was going on in my body. They couldn’t help. My symptoms where not in line with a clear prognosis. This was really frustrating to me. I DESPERATELY wanted answers. I was sick of barely making it through the day. I wanted to be made whole and there was nothing or no one that was going to stop me from getting the healing in body that I longed for.
I live like that for over a year. Then one day I went out to coffee with a friend who talked to me about nutritional response testing (NRT). I had never heard of it. At this point I was willing to try ANYTHING so the pain would stop. So I figured what the heck I’ll try it. And guess what it worked! I was completely pain free in the less than 3 months!
While I was going through the NRT, I learned about eating REAL food. I thought I knew what healthy eating was, but boy was I off the mark.
